I’m a complete believer we are all connected by an energy. When you think about someone special in your life, and the next thing you know they’re calling you or stopping by, or even some of the powers of positive thinking and prayer. I enjoyed Enlightened by Melissa Lummis because it explores that connection.
Here’s a quick summary of the book:
Loti Dupree fears that when her husband died, she lost her soul. Harboring a painful secret, she flees her life in a small Appalachian town for the ashram, the spiritual retreat where she trained to be a yogini. But she is running from more than grief. An ominous nightmare the night before she leaves sets her on a dangerous path of self-discovery that challenges everything she believes – and threatens her life.
While dodging psychic attacks from an unknown assailant, she struggles with her growing attraction to a broody, handsome and completely frustrating vampire. Loti races to understand who and what she is before her anonymous enemy catches up with her.
Loti thought she couldn’t survive her husband’s death, but among healers, witches, and vampires, she discovers not only a future, but a family.
Enlightened is part one in the Love and Light Series. I really enjoyed this book from start to finish. I fell in love with Loti’s character from the start of the book.
Enlightened is a paranormal book, so it delves into vampires in a different way than any other paranormal book I’ve read. This book definitely combines a unique combination of characters! Where else can you find hippies, vampires, witches and yoginis all in one book?
The best part is it works! I couldn’t put the book down from start to finish! I can’t wait to read the next book in the series to see what happens!
Buy It: Kindle or Paperback
I received an ebook copy of Enlightened to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.
